About the Artist

Hello,

I grew up in a small town named Clover, Idaho. Being surrounded by the countryside inspired a lifelong appreciation for God's creation. Noticing the way light filters through trees and clouds, the slight nuances of landscapes through each season, and the waters sparking reflection, has brought so much joy and kept me centered.

When I found the medium of soft pastel I was captivated by their layering abilities, velvet textures, and iridescent qualities. It was if I could finally express in my own way the beauty I was finding all around me. I hope that you will find a piece that connects to you, and makes your home a place full of beauty and wonder.

Soft Pastel

Soft pastels are a powdered oil-paint pigment that is held together with a small amount of binder creating a chalk-like stick. They create rich, luminous colors and a velvety texture that blend effortlessly allowing for a soft, glowing effect.

Unlike paints, pastels deliver color directly to the surface and are often hand-blended, providing an intimate (and messy!) connection between the paper, pastels, and artist. The paper is toothed so that pigments can be layered onto the paper. This technique allows for many nuances in layers that provide depth and a timeless finish.
